In this class we build a small dovetailed box with a solid, unhinged lid and internal tray (similar to the box pictured). The finished box is approximately 4″h x 6″w x 10″l. Stock will be pre-milled so that maximum time can be devoted to honing dovetail and other skills in the making of the box. Besides hand-cut dovetails, techniques used to complete the box edge joining, surface planing, carving and mortising pulls, and finishing with shellac. Wood selection and resawing will be discussed and demonstrated.
