In this class we construct a solid wood table/desk, approximately 30″h x 24″w x 36″l, based on a design having straight tapered legs, mortise and tenon construction, and solid top — similar to the table pictured at left and below. Skills and techniques covered include wood selection and resawing, mortise and tenon work, tapering legs, edge joining. and general table construction precepts. Since the focus of the class is technique and methodology, rather than design, we will stick closely to the design provided. Students will have some latitude to make minor changes and personalize their table.
