Frame & panel construction is hundreds, if not thousands of years old. By making a dimensioned frame and ‘floating’ a solid wood panel in it, a stable surface of wood has been created which, in relation to the rest of the assembly, is not as subject to movement as is solid wood panels. Many variations of the frame & panel exist, and functionally this class addresses all of them, although we will concentrate on the Scandanavian approach popularized by James Krenov.
